Born in Texas, Ryan grew up in Charlotte, NC where he was actively involved in the arts from an early age. He began singing in the internationally touring St. Peter's boys choir and playing clarinet for the Charlotte youth orchestra while studying under the 1st chair clarinetist of the Charlotte Orchestra as his youngest student. In high school he was drumline captain and also played lead guitar and sang in rock bands downtown.

After being accepted to Belmont University to study music, he became involved in the theatre and never turned back. He changed majors to become part of the honors college and successfully auditioned for the Musical Theatre program. While there, he continued to play in bands, was involved with Nashville Shakespeare Festival, Nashville acting studio, two professional summerstocks, and created his own theatre company where he directed and produced its first show to sold out audiences. After obtaining permission from the University, he graduated a week early to pursue projects in NYC.

Ryan currently resides in Brooklyn and continues to study acting under Michael Howard. Outside of acting, he is involved with the NYC bartending/mixology scene, makes music, plays pool, boxes, and does anything else he can get his grubby artsy-fartsy hands on.
